Riverside provides up to sixteen (16) weeks of Paid Parental Leave in any eighteen (18)-month period for primary caregivers, and up to six (6) weeks of Paid Parental Leave in any eighteen (18)-month period for secondary caregivers, at up to one hundred percent (100%) of an employee’s regular rate of pay following the birth of an employee’s child or the placement of a child with an employee for adoption or foster care. For purposes of this policy, the “primary caregiver” (who may be of any gender) is the person who assumes dominant responsibility for taking care of the recently-born or placed child(ren).

Employees must at the time leave begins: (1) have been employed by Riverside as a full- or part-time, regular employee for the preceding twelve (12) consecutive months; and (2) have worked at least 1,000 hours for the preceding twelve (12) consecutive months. Temporary employees and interns are not eligible for Paid Parental Leave. An employee is eligible for this benefit once within any eighteen (18)-month period. A multiple birth, adoption, or placement (e.g., the birth of twins or adoption of siblings) does not increase the total amount of Paid Parental Leave available.
